stretching our limits...

over the last few days, we've been stretching our limits...

with only few days before starting to work, we decided *suddenly* to hire someone to install the laminated floor. It turned out that they can do it over the memorial weekend - so, we go for it.

after a day of wedding for me (and 2 weddings for alex) on saturday, we rushed home and start moving all the stuffs from the 3 bedrooms and hallway closets to our doggie room and dining room and living room. It was pretty messy when we got everything dissembled and moved =P

with only 5 hours of sleep, the installers arrived at 7am on sunday and started their work!

and while they were working hard, we were too -

we worked on the yard a whole day monday - we tried out our new edger and it worked really well. i did the edging while mom and alex did the mowing. after that, mom started trimming the bushes in the backyard, i started mobbing leaves and alex tried removing one of a huge bush that has grown probably 10, 15 feet tall and too wide to have pushed against the fence and the house. what did we end up with is A LOT OF yard waste - and dad started doing the clean-up for us.

by the time we are done - the floor installer were done for the project too ...

so with the remaining energy, i started getting everything back to its place - and finally got the project done around 11pm.

now, i'm all happy with the laminated floor (except that the t-molding's color is not an exact match to the floor itself :( ).

anyhow, whether it's true or it's just a psy - i sneeze less today ;)

w o m e n

lots going on...

since linus and his parents has arrived, we had lots going on...

we broke our record of playing badminton 6 times within 11 days - my knee starts to ache on the 12th day ;) but one definite benefit is - my bye-bye arm is gone after this intensive exercise!

we got a bbq grill (thanks, linus!) alex is all ready to start his bbq grill...

uncle hermann helped alex re-orienting his speakers so it sounds even much better now...

uncle hermann got me on vitamin supplments to help with my allergy ...

we end up deciding to change our flooring - will replace the carpet in the living room to have a similar thickness like our doggie room for its comfyness (home depot has a pretty good deal again) - - - OH, and to put on laminated floor in the bedrooms and hallway =) i love this idea...


we played majong - i digged out a travel set i got from HK airport that my parents, auntie monita and linus played (with all these glasses in order to see the text clearly...). I had so much fun just by watching them play.... see the size of these MJ ... cute, huh?

trying to get healthy....

with a week of vacation - i was able to exercise 6 times! 3 days of gym and 3 days of badminton. It was very fun playing badminton with uncle, auntie and cousin. Hopefully I can stay as active after I start my new job...

talking about job - there's only 2 more days to work at A and i was so busy today documenting everything i've learned since i joined the team. I have been typing, typing and typing and by the time i left work today, i found that i've typed 24 full pages..... this is probably the first time i documented so much information when leaving a company... maybe it's wiser to document earlier next time (ha, if i ever switch job again!)

為什麼是同一首歌曲?

同一首歌, 對我和她, 卻有非常不同意思..它是一首永遠讓我想起brenda的歌... 因為...brenda是唱罷這首歌,而開始進入離世的階段... 每一次我聽這首歌, 想像那個情景, 都會流起淚來...

bill impacts?

I haven't logged on to my PSE account for a while - probably becuz i was so discouraged everytime i saw the bill going up, no matter how hard i try to save energy at home. Tonite, i found that the bill FINALLY went down for last month - so i was really interested to see why ;) after logging into my account, i found a lot of useful information now available on the PSE website. it has this section called "bill impacts" which do a quick and easy-to-read comparison of your current bill versus your last bill...

Your energy charges were $ xx.xx lower for this bill.
Your gas usage decreased for this bill.
...
...

and the most eye-catching one is

The weather decreased your bill by $16.00 - $27.00.

hmm... interesting!
